BJD...What?

BJD means Ball Jointed doll but even when it has word doll these aren't just normal dolls like barbies or other kids' dolls. These aren't made for playing and can get broken more easily than toys. What then is so special about these, you may ask. BJDs can be mentioned as one field of art and they all are unique, differend and beautiful dolls for collecting or for other hobbies. Someones can even get so passioned and emotionally keen on BJDs as their own kids, partner or mini-me. Big mistake to make is also think that these are only for kids or teens.

BJDs originality, unique and beauty can be made and is based on the fact one can create differend kind of variations from differend type of body parts, wigs, make-up and clothing. Differend companies' bodyparts can be mixed together and that way create unique BJD. Even when bodyparts are same these dolls can look very differend and that's because of make-up which prings those beautiful dolls alive.

BJDs' size can change much beatween differend companies' products. Biggest BJDs ( for sale at least ) is Angel of dreams' 90cm tall BJDs. Biggest known is 147cm tall but it isn't in market anymore. LaTiDoll has the smallest dolls which are only 9,5cm tall. Under 70cm are generally the normal and most popular size. All sizes can be calculated in 2 or 3 catecory. When thought in two here is SD which means Super Dolfie (about 60cm) and MSD which means Mini Super Dolfie (about 45cm).

BJDs are originally from Japan or atleast many says so and in BJD there can be seen East beauty which has same type of beauty than anime and manga has. From Japan these beautiful dolls has make their way to west in resent years. Still nobody knows these dolls' originality well and here is also one other story which says germans has made the first doll what was inspired from japanese traditional dolls and after that japanese made first BJD from inspiration of the german's doll.

It seems like most of the companies are in Korea and that isn't surprising when we know the fact that biggest popularity of BJDs' is in East. However the most popular or atleast most known is Volks' Dolfie (Japan). Dolfie isn't name for all dolls even though it's heard to be used as one. This is because of Dolfie was one of the most known when it made it's way in market. Most of Ball Jointed Dolls can buy from internet but some companys have shops in Japan and L.A like Volks' Tenshi no Sumika-shop.

Originality and unique makes for BJDs also those marginal producing which means there isn't many of same way looking dolls. This fact makes BJDs money-eaters. Price is the thing what at least makes people to understand these dolls aren't normal or toys. BJDs' can cost from 100e to 20000e and even when you will buy only naked body without even make-up, eyes or wig. That naked body can cost easily 600e or much much more. Basically it isn't cheaper to buy naked body than full-set one.

BJDs can be categorized as 3 types: Unique (product can be only one), Limited (products can be about 5) and normals which are made based on how much buyers want to buy. Of course these categorys affect to the price and obliviously Uniques are the most pricy ones. But surprising is that evevn when you try to look for second-hand dolls or progen ones you can see those cost almost same as new one or even more.

Till now you are willing to know why these BJDs are so popular and why people want to buy those. well everyone has their own reasons but usually people want those for degory, photoing, mannekines for clothes or jewelry and so on.
